Menstrual Hygiene Day — Thank You!
Our May fundraiser with The MoonCatcher Project was a joyful success. Across two days, over 120 people danced together across two continents, students at Sankhula Secondary School in Malawi, friends in Albany and Berlin, and folks tuning in from Zoom around the world. Thank you to everyone who showed up, moved, and gave.
MoonCatcher is still raising funds for menstrual kits and education — your donation still makes a difference.
About The MoonCatcher Project
This May, we danced with students from Malawi and raising support for The MoonCatcher Project. MoonCatcher provides reusable menstrual kits and education to girls in developing countries, helping them stay in school and thrive in their communities.
Around the world, millions of girls miss school every month because they lack access to menstrual products. MoonCatcher's kits last for years and come with health education that breaks the stigma around menstruation. Their work keeps girls in the classroom and builds confidence in their communities.

Wednesday Morning on Zoom
Wednesday, May 27, 2026
A group of us gathered on Zoom for a morning dance party, joined by about 80 students from Sankhula Secondary School in Malawi. The kids came with their own song requests and their own dance moves — we happily followed their lead. Dancing together across continents was exactly the kind of connection this work is all about.
Friday Evening, Live and on Zoom
Friday, May 29, 2026
About 40 people danced in Albany, with more in Berlin and on Zoom, including Mzati! African fabrics down the walls, the giant video glowing, beautiful crafts for sale, a generous spread that "refreshments" can't quite carry. Enthusiastic dancers of all ages. Big-party warmth, no dance-club edge. Everyone smiling. Everyone moving. It was, simply, a blast.
